Charles Durning (Ernie Yost / NCIS)

Charles Durning

I’m just filing this a bit late. I have the theory that holding back bought autographs prevents more TTMs to come in *chuckles* I know I’m just a liiiittle bit superstitious. But it doesn’t do any harm to post it, so here it is 😉 I always wanted to write him and planned on ordering photos to finally write him, in December. Only to read a few days after Christmas that he had passed away on Christmas Eve. So I decided to buy his autograph while the stores hadn’t reacted yet to the news and the prize for the autograph was still acceptably low.

He did a wonderful job in the NCIS episode Call of Silence which still is one of my favourite episodes ever (not just because of my favourite actress Alicia Coppola is in it), it’s sooooo moving!

Lee Pace

04.12.12 – 19.01.13

Lee Pace (Thranduil / The Hobbit & Garrett / Breaking Dawn)

Lee Pace Lee Pace2

2/2 photos signed, one of them personalized

Wooooooohoooo!! When I saw this envelope stamped from New York I hoped, really hoped that it would be this autograph (because I don’t recall many other letters I sent to NY in the last months), but at the same time I didn’t dare to hope. So I ripped open the envelope very nervously, and then danced for joy. Lee Pace somehow already made it to my urgent “must have” list even before I saw him in any movie, because – well, because he would be Thranduil in the Hobbit, and the first photo of him as the elven king is pretty amazing in my opinion (I know others think the crown is ridiculous, but I like it ;)). So I already wrote him via the Hobbit set in June 2011, without success. Then in early November via the same play I got this answer now. But that was pretty early and also there was this big storm exactly in NY just a few days before, so I imagine the letter could have been lost. And I didn’t want to risk missing this opportunity, so I wrote him again a week before the Hobbit aired – at least by then I had already seen Breaking Dawn and his character was my favourite, so one more reason to write him. Of course then I also loved his short appearance as Thranduil and I really can’t wait to see more of him in the next movie!

Since the Hobbit cast’s autographs are more or less my main objective to obtain, Lee Pace shot up in my most wanted list for 2013, so after a very disappointing beginning of January, concerning autographs, this now is certainly one the best compensations possible.

Dean O’Gorman

08.08.11 – 17.01.13

Dean O’Gorman (Fili / The Hobbit)

Dean OGorman Dean OGorman2

2/2 signed, one of them personalized

Hell yeah! Dean O’Gorman proved to be a difficult case til now, but when a friend got his autograph yesterday I hoped that he’d answer my letter as well, although I had already sent it over 1 1/3 years ago. I’m very happy when I got his autograph now. Although I’ll probably send another letter anyways because I already printed out a few newer photos a few weeks ago, which I’d love to have signed. But for now I’m more than glad to have another Hobbit dwarf in my collection – now I’m only lacking William Kircher and Jed Brophy (though I already have the latter on an LotR orc pic, but of course I wanna have his signature on a dwarf photo as well!)

As for Dean O’Gorman / Fili: I love him in the first Hobbit movie. I have two lists of favourite dwarves, one for the Top 3 characters, and one for the “hotness factor”. Fili makes #3 on the latter (after Thorin and Kili ;)). And I guess he’d make #4 or #5 on the character list, but Bofur and Balin were too awesome so they are #2 and #3. Thorin leads on both lists, obviously XD But 3 and 4 respectively of 13 dwarves is pretty good, isn’t it 😉 Can’t wait to see him (and the other dwarves) in the second movie. And in the first movie on BluRay, for that matter *waits impatiently*

Sam Troughton

Sam Troughton (Much / Robin Hood)

This was a nice extra that I bought when I purchased another autograph from the same store. I had sent him a letter without getting a response when he did a play last year, so I decided to buy this now for very little money and save the time and money of sending him another letter. I really liked his role in the Robin Hood series.
